Our EV charging point is conveniently located in the car park next to the log shed, adjacent to the bridge. We take pride in the fact that Castaway offers a complete escape with no mobile signal or Wi-Fi—an experience cherished by our guests. This, however, makes installing a meter on the charging point impractical. Instead, it’s a straightforward plug-in unit, easy to access and use. We rely on the honesty system for payment, which we explain further below.

With our EV charging point, you can explore the beauty and serenity of our valley without worrying about finding charging points for your electric or hybrid vehicle. Whether you’re embarking on scenic drives, hiking, or simply enjoying the calm of Llanthony and the Black Mountains, you can rest assured that your vehicle is being charged sustainably.

The Honesty Fee Approach

During the booking process, you’ll have the option to add an ‘extra’ for a price bracket that you estimate will cover your charging needs based on your planned mileage and your vehicle’s consumption. We won’t be conducting any checks on your vehicle for payment verification. Instead, we kindly ask that you consider contributing the appropriate amount for the charging fees that may accumulate during your stay.
